Eurosens Defender MAX
Active intrinsic protection barrier for connection of sensors located in hazardous areas. In addition to providing intrinsically safe power and signal circuits, it also has the function of interrogating sensors in the hazardous area, monitoring their serviceability and controlling their current consumption.
The intrinsic safety barrier is used when we need to install Eurosens sensors in hazardous areas, e.g. fuel level sensors in fuel tanker compartments. The intrinsic safety barrier ensures that the voltage and current applied to the sensors are limited within the limits allowed by safety standards.
The barrier belongs to the connected electrical equipment, it implements the type of explosion protection «I» – «intrinsically safe electric circuit», it is certified to the explosion protection level «A» – «highly exposed», category IIB in accordance with GOST 31610.11-2014 and has ExiaIIBT6 X explosion protection.
The barrier has 2 intrinsically safe output power channels and one RS-485 interface.
In addition to intrinsic protection functions, the Defender MAX barrier also polls sensors in the hazardous area via RS-485 interface and sends the polling results to the external RS-485 interface.
Eurosens Destination 02/CAN adapters or other USB-RS485 converters can be used to configure the barrier.
