Monitoring of river and sea vessels
The more fuel the monitoring object consumes, the sooner it should be equipped with a remote monitoring system, including a subsystem for an actual fuel consumption measurement. Such objects are diesel locomotives and river/sea vessels.
That is why the monitoring system of river vessels besides the gsm/satellite tracker with data transmission via cellular or satellite networks also includes fuel consumption sensors, which are installed on each consumer (main and auxiliary engines, diesel generators, boilers) and connected by communication interface RS485 or CAN. It is possible to connect sensors to the standard NMEA2000 marine CAN bus to be compatible with a boat instrument cluster.
Benefits of implementation
- Track vessel location, route, speed and mode of activity at any given time.
- Control of operation mode and consumption of any fuel consumers (main engines, auxiliary engines, boiler units, diesel generators, etc.).
- Fuel theft prevention
The remote vessel tracking system uses GPS trackers with advanced functionality. Multiple CAN/RS485/RS232 interfaces and wireless sensors support allows you to connect a wide range of peripheral equipment.
To monitor fuel consumption by auxiliary power units, Eurosens Delta high-precision fuel consumption sensors are usually used, which are installed on modern engines without changing the fuel supply scheme. Main engines are usually fitted with a pair of large Eurosens Direct flow meters.
Flow meters provide an accurate measurement of fuel flow regardless of tank shape and ship’s rolling, but do not provide information on the current volume of fuel in the tanks. We also recommend installing eurosens Dominator fuel level sensors for this purpose. The filling of the wastewater tanks can be monitored using eurosens MWS radar liquid level sensors.
Fuel flow meters eurosens are certified by the River Register and included in the register of measuring instruments of the Russian Federation, the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Republic of Belarus.

Eurosens Direct 1500, 3000
Large Eurosens flow meters are installed on main engines, on fuel flows up to 3000 liters per hour

Eurosens Dominator
Eurosens Dominator fuel level sensors measure the volume of fuel in the tanks

Eurosens MWS
The radar liquid level sensor is used to measure the volume of clean water or wastewater on board a ship

Eurosens Deaerator
The fuel system of some engines contains air bubbles in the return line. Special Eurosens deaerators are used for air removal
