Android app Dashdrive – a virtual dashboard for the driver

Sometimes there is a need for a display to show the data collected by the monitoring system directly to the driver or operator of the installation. In this case, the data can be very different – fuel residue in tanks, data from CAN-bus, tire pressure, values of any parameters read by the monitoring terminal via Modbus. If Teltonika or Navtelecom monitoring terminals are used, it is now possible to use any device running Android operating system as a display: tablet, smartphone, video recorder, car stereo, etc. The application Dashdd is developed by us. The Dashdrive application developed by us is installed on an Android device and performs the following functions:

  • connects to the monitoring terminals via Bluetooth wireless interface to receive and continuously update telematics data;
  • saves the required telematics data in the local database (DB) of the Android device at the same time as it is recalculated using the formula;
  • sends the stored telematics data to the monitoring server if an Internet connection is available;
  • displays telematics data on a virtual dashboard that is flexibly configurable.

Unlike mobile apps that receive information from a monitoring server, the Dashdrive app provides minimal delay in displaying and responding to data.
