Axle load measurement

Eurosens DDS BT

Eurosens DDS BT– wireless axle load sensor for a vehicle with spring suspension. The Eurosens DDS wireless sensor is mounted on the vehicle chassis. The vertical link from the mounting kit is attached to the axle. Suspension deflection under load is converted into vertical displacement of the link and rotation of the DDS sensor shaft arm. A Hall sensor is used as the transducer. The output of the sensor generates an output signal that corresponds to the angular position of the swivel arm, which varies depending on the vehicle’s axle load. To convert the output signal into axle load values in kilograms, it is necessary to carry out a calibration using a vehicle scale.

How it works?

The output signal of the Eurosens DPS Bt sensor is transmitted via Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) radio channel. Popular monitoring terminals (Navtelecom, Teltonica, Galileosky and others) are suitable for reading data. The sensor is powered by a built-in battery, which has a life of 5 years. After the Eurosens DDS has been installed and connected, a calibration procedure must be performed to match the output voltage to the vehicle’s suspension load.
